Château Roustan's total surface covers 175 acres of sunny south facing vineyards, which benefit from the airy Mediterranean climate. The domain's owners, are counted among the Rhône valley's most dynamic and talented winegrowers. The work that they accomplish allows the grape to breathe out and they do not use any oak barrels for the ageing of the wines. Amongtheir wines, they produce fresh & easy to drink white and rose wines, on top of a great valuable red.
Vineyard
Saint-Gilles. South facing slopes of the Costières de Nîmes. The Costières de Nîmes are situated in the Rhône valley's most southern part, on the opposite bank of the Rhône with regards to Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Rolled Durance pebbles (the Durance river flowed through the valley well before the Rhône). Vines : 25 years old - 22.24 acres - Yield : 50 Hl/Ha - 3T/acre.
Winemaking
Cooling of the harvest in the hopper immediatly on reception (reduction of 12° C/ 54 °F). Bled rosé. The blending takes place 24 h after the harvest for the Syrah and 45 h after the harvest for the Grenache. Thermo regulated fermentation between 60,80 ° F and 64,40 ° F./nIn stailess steel tanks. Very early bottling.
Tasting notes
Beautiful intense color with an explosion of fruit in the nose and on the palate. This wine is situated between Tavel and Côtes de Provence.
Food pairing
Spicy and exotic cuisine, Bouillabaisse, lamps chops with Provence herbs.
