Wine Enthusiast spotlights Chanfreau Family’s Chateau Lestage and Chateau Caroline
In the Listrac-Médoc appellation, the Chanfreau family has been making wine since 1962. The family started with Château Fonréaud prior to purchasing Château Lestage, Château Caroline, and Clos des Demoiselles. Today, the family-owned vineyard covers a total of 51 hectares in Listrac-Médoc and Moulis-en-Médoc in Haut-Médoc.


The 2018 Chateau Lestage is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot from Listrac-Médoc.
For the 2018 vintage, Wine Enthusiast gave 91 points to the wine, drawing attention to its “succulent black fruits.”



The Chanfreau family’s Chateau Caroline from Moulis-en-Médoc also excelled with Wine Enthusiast.
Receiving 92 points and Cellar Selection, the 2018 Chateau Caroline Cru Bourgeois
is a wine that will show “dense blackberry fruits and acidity” with time.
