Location : The Cave des Vignerons de Tavel is in the Rhone Valley near Avignon, Lirac and Roquemaure.
Size of the vineyard / Total Production (in cases) : 37 Acres
Terroir : Its geographical position in the heart of the Tavel vineyards is an indication of its deep local roots.
Age of the vines : 25 Years.
Yields : 40 Hl/Ha
Grape varieties : Black Grenache (50%) which brings softness and a high aromatic potential -
Syrah (30%) fruit – fullness and body -
Mourvèdre (15%) fruit and spice aromas –
Old Carignan (5%).
Vinification : The harvest is destalked.
Traditional vinification with long vating periods. After putting into tanks, we pump the juice over to homogenize the harvest. During the alcoholic fermentation there are several pumping-overs depending on the denseness. Computer assisted cooling systems enable us to chill if necessary.

Type of ageing : In stainless steel vats.
Tasting note : Eye : bright robe - deep crimson red. Purple tints. Aromas : ripe fruit aromas – caramel and liquorice. Mouth : soft in the beginning - robust and warm – full-bodied wine. Lirac is a Cru which associates elegancy and corpulence.
Accompaniment advice : Red Lirac should be served at 18 degrees. This wine Lirac will be perfect with dishes in sauce (stews), Beef, game and great cheese.
Ageing potential : Ageing capacity : around 5 to 7 years.
